Rumi, the Sufic mystic who founded the Whirling Dervish sect. Today
it is still a centre of Sufic practice and teaching, and one of
the highlights for visitors is the Mevlana Museum, the former lodge
of the dervishes.

Typical of the climate in Central Anatolia, the climate here is
very hot and dry in summer, and freezing cold in winter. April can
be rainy, and the best times to visit are spring and autumn.
