years and hosted numerous settlement places and civilizations until the prehistoric
periods. The city was remembered with the name, Cappadoccian Kingdom in history.
The province and the surrounding region had been under the reign of Hittites,
Persians, Macedonians, Selevkosians, Romans, Byzantine, Seljukians, Dulkadirogullari
and Ottomans.
